June 22, 2021

A beautiful June day that changed everything.

In the summer of 2021, Mike Neubauer was embarking on a new chapter of his life with his wife, Morgan, and their six children.

They had recently purchased a 40-acre farmhouse built in 1894, aiming to create their own farmstead. This dream, however, was about to be challenged by a fateful incident that would test Mike's resilience and faith...

On June 22, 2021, Mike was involved in a moving-day accident that would change his life forever. While unloading a John Deere tractor, an unforeseen malfunction caused the tractor to lurch forward in gear. In a horrifying moment, the tractor pulled Mike under, crushing his pelvis and severely injuring his right hand, leaving it barely attached.

In speaking with Mike Neubauer, he recounted a pivotal moment that illuminated his extraordinary journey of resilience and faith. As he lay in the street on that fateful day in June 2021, crushed under a tractor on his newly acquired dream farmstead, Mike faced a profound decision. The accident, which had left him with a severely crushed pelvis and a nearly severed hand, also presented him with a moment of unexpected tranquility.

"There was this surreal calmness," Mike recalled. "I was there, lying on the asphalt, staring at the sky, and for a second, I felt completely at peace. It was as if time had paused."

In this stillness, Mike considered the possibility of closing his eyes and embracing the serenity of heaven. Yet, it was more than just a choice between life and death. It was a reflection of a life lived without regrets, a life where he hadn't held back. "I thought about my wife, Morgan, and my kids. I knew, somehow, they would be okay even if I had to close my eyes forever."

But amidst this peace, a deeper realization surfaced. Mike understood that he had more to offer, more moments to share with his family, and more dreams to fulfill. "I looked at my feet, thinking, 'If they move, I'll fight with everything I have.' And they moved." That subtle movement was a signal, a call to battle through the pain and fear.

As Mike was rushed to the hospital and then quickly airlifted to Loyola Medical Center, this fighting spirit never waned. Despite the severe injuries, his determination was unshakeable.

The medical team at Loyola, fully aware of the critical nature of his condition, was prepped and ready when the flight crew rolled Mike through the doors. Their exceptional skill and unwavering dedication, matched with Mike's relentless will to survive, led to what can only be described as a series of medical marvels. They not only saved his life but also meticulously reattached his hand, giving him a chance to fully embrace the life he so fiercely chose to cling to.

During his long and painful recovery, Mike's thoughts often drifted back to that moment on the street. "It was a turning point," he said. "Lying there, deciding to fight, it wasn't just about surviving. It was about affirming the life I've lived, the choices I've made, and the people I love. And, it was about finding what I was truly put on this earth to do.”

Mike's journey is a poignant reminder of the fragile yet tenacious nature of human life. It's a story that intertwines tragedy with hope, despair with courage, and loss with gratitude. His experience, though marked by physical and emotional scars, is ultimately a celebration of life, a testament to the power of a determined heart, and the unyielding love of both family and total strangers, highlighting the incredible impact of medical professionals in times of dire need.

Why Physicians?

At Grand Vision Family Office, our mission is much different than traditional financial management. Led by CEO Mike Neubauer, we have honed our expertise to specifically cater to the unique financial landscape of physicians. This focus is not a mere coincidence but a strategic choice to amplify the impact of those who inherently strive to do good in the world. Physicians, with their intrinsic desire to heal and help, represent the ideal partners in our mission.

Mike's own life-changing experience was a stark reminder of the delicate balance between time and money. It emphasized the importance of not just accumulating wealth, but living a life rich in moments and meaning.

As he lay under the crushing weight of a tractor, fighting for survival, Mike was reminded of the preciousness of moments spent with loved ones and the importance of living a life unburdened by financial constraints. This philosophy is the cornerstone of our approach at Grand Vision Family Office. We believe in empowering physicians, not just because they deserve it after their hard work, but because they are uniquely positioned to create a ripple effect of positive change with their wealth.

Physicians often walk a tightrope, balancing demanding careers with personal aspirations. Our tailored strategies are designed to alleviate their financial burdens, providing tax-efficient solutions and maximizing their earnings. We understand that for physicians, time is as precious as their financial resources. Our goal is to enhance their wealth in a way that also frees up their time, enabling them to pursue passions both within and beyond medicine.

In every physician, we see a spark – a deep-seated passion for doing good. This is where Grand Vision Family Office finds its purpose. By amplifying the financial capabilities of physicians, we're not just aiding individual success; we're fueling a chain reaction of impactful actions.

Wealth, in our view, is a powerful amplifier. It reveals and enhances the core traits of an individual. Our focus on physicians stems from the recognition that their wealth amplification won’t lead to more greed in this world, but likely a greater societal good.

"Be the One" isn't just a slogan; it's a reflection of our commitment to ensuring that the new-found wealth of physicians is channeled towards positive transformation. In doing so, we're not only assisting them in achieving their family’s financial goals, but also ensuring that their success contributes to a broader spectrum of change and impact.

At Grand Vision Family Office, we are not financial advisors; we are facilitators of change. By working with physicians, we position ourselves at a point where our expertise meets the greatest potential for positive impact.

Our strategies are meticulously crafted not just to transition physicians from being 'rich' to 'wealthy' but to ensure that their wealth becomes a tool for real change in the lives of their families, and possibly the lives of total strangers.
